Al Rawahi dedicates title “Jordan Rally 2021” to the Sultanate

Top-seeded and former winner Abdullah al Rawahi secured a morale-boosting win in the third round of the Jordan National Rally Championship 2021 near Dead Sea in Jordan, on Friday. Teaming up with his experienced and long-time co-driver Ata al Hmoud of Jordan, the duo claimed the title in their Subaru Impreza ST1 N14 nearly two and a half minutes ahead of Jordanian duo of Youssef al Asmar and Nabil Kayyal, also in a Subaru Impreza.

Al-Rawahi, along with Ata Al Hmoud – who are supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, Al-Manar Investments, Sohar International, Al-Wahaibi Motorsports, Lujaina Mohsen Darwish, Khimji Ramdas Group, and Motul – are seeking to achieve many titles until the end of this season, according to the program set by the Oman Rally Team.

The drivers participating in the rally entered the rally’s competitions through its 4 stages, amid a strong struggle to advance to the first positions and take the podium. The strongest competition in the rally took place between Al-Rawahi, the driver Youssef Al-Asmar, and Amir Nassif. The competition reached its climax in the rally stages where Al-Rawahi remained at the lead and drivers Tariq Al-Taher, Shadi Shaaban, Sami Fleifel, Shaker Juwaihan, Ihab Al-Sharfa, Issa Abu Jamous, Ziad Miqdad, Asim Aref and Al-Hassan Al-Khatib entered the competition line.

The distance of the first stage was 9.7 km, which Al-Rawahi – and his navigator Atta Al-Hamoud – was able to lead with a time of 7.11.0 minutes, while the driver Youssef Al-Asmar – and his navigator Nabil Kayal – came in second place, and Amir Nassif and his navigator Musa Jahrian came in third. The driver, Tariq Al-Taher, and his co-driver, Samer Issa, came fourth with a time of 7.58.0 minutes.
