Runner Hamdan bin Hamoud Al Khateri from Wilayat Al Awabi in South Al Batinah Governorate managed to reach the finish line in the 170 km World Challenge Race, which was held in the Alps in the Republic of France, in which nearly 10,000 competitors from different countries of the world participated.

Al Khatri said that during his participation in the Tour de France, he faced many difficulties the most important of which was the very harsh climatic conditions represented in the extreme cold weather in some places of the race, 10 degrees below zero and the danger of some race tracks.

Al Khatri benefited from this experience despite his modern practice of this sport, which he started in 2019, by participating in the first race in the Sultanate for a distance of 137 km, noting that the benefit was the need to focus on technical matters and to adapt to the temperatures and cold.
