Opening of the Third Round of the Omantel League

The third week of the Omantel football league competition opens this evening for the current sports season 2021 / 2022 with the establishment of three upcoming matches, most notably the matches of the third week between Al Nahdha, leader of the general ranking of the league competition with 6 points, and Al Seeb, the league host and title holder, and ranked fourth overall this season with 4 points. The match will start at 4:54 PM this afternoon at Al Seeb Stadium. The match will be followed by another match between Nizwa, which is ranked 13th in the overall standings of the league competition, and Muscat, that is at the bottom of the standings. The match will be held at the Nizwa sports complex at 6 p.m. The matches conclude with the upcoming match between the traditional rivals; Saham and Sohar at the Sohar sports complex, specifically at 7:15 p.m.

Al-Nahda started its journey in the current season with a very ideal scenario, as it managed to achieve the full point in the first two rounds, after defeating Al-Masanna by three goals to one for the first week, followed by a 4-0 victory over Saham in the second week, with 7 goals, while it conceded a single goal from two matches, which reflects a clear indication of the harmonious mixture between the team’s defense and attack lines.

Al-Nahda, led by its experienced national coach, Hamad Al-Azani, is looking forward to investing its winning start in the league competition by continuing to present its strong performances, hoping to get a positive result from its host, Al-Seeb.

It is noticed in Al-Nahda squad team the extent of the interconnection of the three lines and their superior ability to narrow the spaces in front of the opposing team, which makes it difficult for Al-Seeb to penetrate the ranks of Al-Nahda at the top of today’s matches, that is to the experience of Commander Mansour Al-Nuaimi and the enthusiasm of Ali Al-Rashidi in moving with and without the ball.

Al-Seeb looks to take advantage of the audience as the game will be held at Al Seeb stadium grounds, to achieve the victory and achieve its second consecutive victory in the league competition after defeating Muscat in the second round with three clean points.

Moreover, both Saham and Sohar teams are looking for compensation as both teams experienced defeat in their previous matches. Sohar enters the “derby” with one point, which was scored from the tie in the opening round against Al-Suwaiq, and is thus ranked 10th in the league table.

On the other hand, Saham team looks to achieve their first victory in the league competition this season and to reach the fourth point that contributes to improving their position in the general ranking table of the competition, and find the balance to recover quickly after the disappointing defeat against Al-Nahda.

In addition, Nizwa receives the Muscat team; the thirteenth spot in the general ranking table of the Omantel Football League competition, on the floor of the Nizwa Sports Complex this evening. Both teams failed to achieve victory over the previous two rounds, as they have zero points devoid of points.

Nizwa is looking forward to exploiting the factor of hosting the game on its land and the getting the support from the audience in order to achieve their first victory in the league competition and compensate for his two previous losses in the league competition.

As for Muscat team that is led by coach Hussein Al-Hadari, it seeks to rein in its host Nizwa and return the victorious with the three points to correct the course of the competition and move their ranking from the bottom to the top of the general ranking table.

The Omani sports channel will broadcast and direct the events of the summit match between Al-Seeb and Al-Nahda at four fifty minutes, with the voice of commentator Salem Al-Salmi, and will also broadcast live the expected derby between Sohar and Saham at seven and a quarter with the voice of commentator Ahmed Al-Ajmi.
