“Oman in Focus” Documentary is Nearing Conclusion

The film crew for the documentary film ” Oman in Focus “, co-produced by international media channels in Dhofar Governorate, have documented the variety of wildlife, inhabits in the mountains, the seas, and the skies in Dhofar. Moreover, they photographed a variety of animals such as hyenas, wolves, scorpions, and fish that can be found in the valleys. The Governorate of Dhofar incubates several types of birds, as well.

The team spent many hours filming in one day, often for about 24 hours continuously. Filming used cinematic cameras and infrared cameras specialized for night photography, which captures objects by their temperatures.

In addition, the filming was coordinated with many authorities, including the Environmental Conservation Office that is under the Diwan of Royal Court, as well as cooperation with individuals in the province that aim to reach for some types of animals that are difficult to catch. Moreover, the team emphasized on the relationship between Dhofar Governorate and frankincense; they focused on the extraction of frankincense and traditional methods of preserving trees to ensure that they are not damaged during extraction.

A press release was issued by ” Oman in Focus” team where Stefania Muller, director of the production for the documentary said: “In general, Wilayat of Salalah and the Governorate of Dhofar are incredibly beautiful, and the change that occurs in the autumn season is remarkable. It is an unforgettable experience that sees the valleys go from dry to green with rivers, waterfalls, water ponds filled with fish, and all kinds of wildlife around them.”

” Oman in Focus” would like to thank all parties who supported the production of the film, especially the Crowne Plaza Hotel, the Environmental Conservation Office, and other organizations and individuals who supported it.

The project will cover 12 touristic regions in Oman under the title “Undiscovered”. In addition, it should be mentioned that the ” Oman in Focus” project is an extension of the “Undiscovered” project, which was developed in 2014 and 2015. The first project focused on humans and the diversity of terrain, while the second focused on deep-sea life. Therefore, the current project will provide viewers more comprehensive picture of the unique nature of Oman and its wild fauna.
