The Oman Fencing Committee continues the final preparations for the first edition of the Oman Fencing Championship, which will be on next Saturday in the sub-hall of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.<\/p>\n
The tournament marks the committee’s first official event since it was established in 2019, as it will include 70 participants from seven clubs, including Quriyat, Oman Club, Al Shabab, Ahli Sidab, Salalah, Al Nahda, and Muscat.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the tournament will be held for “Epee” fencing for men, and \u201cFoil\u201d fencing for women, as the tournament targets young male and female athletes of all ages. The playoffs and final rounds will be on the same day, and the winners will be crowned in the evening.<\/p>\n
The committee seeks to create a competitive environment for club players to compete and to promote technical development for all participants. This tournament also allows new players to participate in an official tournament, compete, and interact with their peers.<\/p>\n
There will be five Omani referees present in the tournament to supervise the competitions and manage them. Hisham Karshoud, the coach of our national team, will be in charge of the technical supervision. Moreover, this tournament is a good opportunity for the coach to record all the technical notes of the fencers and fencing, evaluate their technical levels, and direct him to enhance strengths, avoid negative aspects, and ensure continuous development to reach the desired technical levels.<\/p>\n
